Northern Sky
Yoga Club

I believe that yoga is everybody. It is not just for the bendy or archetypal yoga body; it is for every body.

My practice is always inclusive and responsive, and often focuses on integrated packages of experiences nurturing the whole person. It seeks to enable anyone to tap into the health and well-being benefits of yoga. I am currently particularly specialising in holistic support for women trying to conceive, blending fertility and restorative yoga, with opportunities to form networks of social support and an opportunity for participants to simply be kind to themselves. I am also available to facilitate one-to-one or small group sessions bringing my particular ethos to your context.

Taught Us About The Importance of Self Care

From the beginning, Helen was warm and friendly - taking away any feeling of nervousness completely. She made all of us laugh and feel calm, and taught us about the importance of self care and self-love! I genuinely looked forward to the class every week, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a way to get back in touch with their bodies, connect with others, and go to bed feeling great every Wednesday evening! There's so much to take away from this course!

Not Just About the Yoga

I started out looking for a meet up on Instagram. That's how I found Helen and the Yoga Fertility Sanctuary. The yoga is gentle, and each session ends with a lovely guided relaxation, which feels like a warm hug. But the sessions aren't just about. They're a space to be, with a chance to talk if you want to. There's something very special about being with other people who completely understand. The sessions have been such a positive experience. I feel they are helping me to begin the process of restoring, reconnecting and healing.

A Chance to Connect and Support One Another

I just wanted to say thank you so much for the course ... it has provided some much needed self-focus and help with relaxation but also a chance to meet you and the other ladies which has been a truly positive and affirmative experience. Thank you so much for shining a light on this community and for giving people a chance to connect and support one another in what can otherwise be such a lonely and negative place.

I met an amazing group of women

After suffering a miscarriage, I was looking for a way to be able to relax and calm myself down if I was feeling anxious. Helen's fertility yoga course not only did that, but it also gave me so much more. I met a group of amazing women who are so supportive, and who can understand something you're going through in a way that a lot of people (including family and friends) can't

I have been practicing yoga for over fifteen years; it offers me a space to find daily inner stillness and calm through posture work, meditation and deep relaxation. I work to share this experience with others through my teaching.  My style of yoga is an eclectic mix of Hatha interweaved with a range of other influences such as yin and yoga nidra. The emphasis is always on gentleness and self-exploration .

I have a broad teaching background; I began my career as a primary teacher, and have working as a Senior Lecturer in Education, supporting university students to become teachers. I bring a wide range of educational practice and philosophies from this into my training through the Yoga Life Project in Manchester, later specialising in fertility and pregnancy yoga with Yogamama. My classes are accessible and inclusive for all, with total beginners always welcome. I attend particularly to the sequencing of experiences in my classes, and strive always to give them a creative spin or polish
